I think channels need a change of controller - Stuart has been with BBC Choice and Three since 1999 or 2000 - so it could be time for a change and some different ideas for the channel.

Interesting that UK Gold and Living TV controllers are being tipped. Living TV has made real strides in re-inventing itself - wonder what that approach would bring to Three.

Be nice to get away from a schedule dominated by parenting programmes, and comedy repeats... (How many times CAN they show Little Britain?)

I'd agree. Take out Little Britain, Two Pints of Lager, Nighty Night, Little Angels and Trauma from the schedule and there wouldn't ge a huge amount left. There's nothing wrong with any of the programmes but you can't build a whole schedule around a small number of episodes of the same programmes.

Even though he's the same man who launched Liquid News in the first place?!

I agree this makes way for a revamp for BBC Three. Everytime I turn on its always Two Pints of Lager! Mad

Though of course Liquid News evolved out of Zero 30 which (as far as I know) had nothing to do with Stuart Murphy.

Quite right, although BBC3 "bought" the show from News24 when that hideous lesbian troll took over.

At least, that's what a certain presenter told me. God rest his wonderful soul.

This had been on cards from the beginning of the week. I believe the BBC has lost one of its finest controllers. Cannot think of anyone suitable to replace him... he is and was the right man for BBC Choice and BBC THREE.

So a man who makes his channel unwatchable by littering it with screen junk is one of the BBC's "finest controllers"?

Sadly, other people have copied his ideas. I'm really getting pissed off by being old on-screen what's up next (remember, BBC Choice were first using in programme promotion, way back in 2000) by numerous channels. As well as being intrusive & treating us like we have attention spans of goldfish, I am not convinced they get any extra viewers anyway.
