Groan - I don't mind the live show on for 70ish mins on a Saturday night as it is quite entertaining (watching Brucie trying to read autocue after a trademark ad-lib is great fun for a start) But..
Strictly, live Saturdays
Strictly, Pre-rec Sundays
It Takes Two, Pre-rec & live Mon-Fridays.
Sorry, but a SCD show 7 days a week for 12 weeks just smacks of
over-kill
Half of it's tabloid talk of course, but the judges seem to be showing a complete disregard for the audience this year with constant reports of them complaining about certain people still being in the competition.
Well, if you're not happy with the results - FAKE THEM!!!
Bruce was apparantly so furious with this weeks results according to reports he said to the viewers "Next week, remember this is a dance contest."
Of course though, they had 24 hours to edit it out!
Quiet here, isn't it? I've been watching the Saturday show every week since the start of this year's series on Saturday 13 October. I've also watched the result shows on video, four to six days late.
Last night's show was Week Seven. Must be about half way through already.
There were only eight couples left last night, out of the original fourteen. I wonder who will end up in the dance-off tonight, and who will be eliminated?
Here are the results from last night's show:
Total Points
Alesha & Matthew 38 8
Kelly & Brendan 36 7
Letitia & Darren 34 6
Matt & Flavia 34 6
Gethin & Camilla 31 4
John & Nicole 28 3
Kenny & Ola 22 2
Kate & Anton 21 1
Notice that Kate and Anton are still in. Of the six weeks (2 to 7 inclusive) that they performed competitively, they have been placed bottom by the judges five times. Only once, week five did they come fourth from last with their foxtrot. Here are their all their performances to-date:
Kate and Anton - judges' scores.
13 October (week 2) - Quickstep (last with 15 points)
20 October (week 3) - Tango (last with 19 points)
27 October (week 4) - Samba (last with 16 points)
3 November (week 5) - Foxtrot (7th out of 10 with 26 points)
10 November (week 6) - Salsa (last with 18 points)
17 November (week 7) - Paso Doble (last with 21 points)
As you may remember, Kate had a foot injury in the first week, and was unable to take part in the group dance that the other female celebrities and their partners did. N.B. The first week only the male celebrities and their partners performed competitively. Thus week 2 was her first week of dancing, and it was unfortunate she had to do something as fast as the Quickstep with her injured foot. I think the judges were rather hard on her that week, they should have allowed for her foot injury. The main thing is that she was able to dance, and didn't have to withdraw at the start, just like Jimmy Tarbuck did last year. I'm glad she was saved the first three times she and Anton finished last with the judges, to allow time for her to improve as her foot healed.
What a shame she had the back injury during her training late this week. It's amazing she was able to dance the Paso Doble last night. Again, I think the judges were hard on her, and should have taken account of her injury. Think of it this way, she was lucky to be allowed to dance in that state. Just like week 2 with her foot injury, it's a wonder she didn't have to withdraw yesterday morning due to her back injury.
I don't like the way you have to wait till Sunday to find out the results. I'd much rather they show them at 9pm Saturday.
The lines close at 9pm Saturday, then the results show is recorded for Sunday evening transmission. So you don't get Saturday night and Sunday daytime to vote. Might as well televise the results show live at 9pm Saturday then.
There is a god afterall. Kelly is thru! Phew! I want it to be a final 'tween her and Alesha. With Alesha to win. They're kinda mesmerising watching them dance if you're on the right buzz..
What just happened at the end of Strictly Come Dancing? Did the graphics or voice over give the wrong phone number(s)?
I never watch the voting reminders that closely but afterwards Bruce Forsyth and Tess Dally were obviously getting some information in their ears and had to read out two of the numbers again.

I noticed that glitch with the aston towards the end of the recap. The dance ball had "Name & Other" on it. I suppose that must have been a generic template, and they would put in the relevant celebrity name e.g. Matt, and partner name, e.g. Flavia.
