Strictly Come Dancing

(December 2007)

Since I didn't see it mentioned anywhere on here (yet there is a 70+ page thread on the X F*cktor)...

Aleesha won tonight's final. Fitting, I'd say she was the best dancer on the night, although it was very close to tell all the way through who was going to win.

Apparently there will be a (presumably pre-recorded) special on Christmas Day, another Champion-of-Champions?

I think that's the format. Recorded on Mon 10th Dec.

The winners of the two previous series, Darren Gough and Mark Ramprakash, will be competing against the four finalists from the latest series.

Good old BBC, milking the format for as long as possible.

That's what happens with no X Factor to compete with!

The ratings aren't really up that much on a standard edition, and neither were The X Factor last week despite no direct Strictly competition.

Kind of suggests each show pretty much has it's own audience - and going head to head doesn't really matter hugely.

Anyhow - BBC milking it again with a Christmas Day episode and another special later in the week.

Interesting actually how despite all the flack ITV and C4 get for their reality shows, it's the BBC that have the reality formats on Christmas Day with both Strictly and Dragons Den on at 8.30pm.

(Talking of which, scheduling wise wouldn't Strictly be better off earlier in the evening, with Dr Who later?)

Which makes it the first final to have been beaten by The X Factor's.

During it's run, Strictly is on every night of the week...and noone says a thing! Maybe it has something to do with the audience demographic?!

The ought to be good, with no references to who won. A bit like when there is a chat show on the night after an important football match, but recorded a few days ago
