Funny you should say that since Forsyth's original vision of the show was more along the lines of the generation game rather than a serious dance show!

Well I thought Strictly Come Dancing was supposed to be a serious dance competition.

If you listened and read more carefully (HA!) you'd have heard the experts (both the judges on the show and the choreographers who do "It Takes 2") say - very clearly - that Ann manages to include a lot of the basic steps. She's clearly not the best of the bunch, but in no way as bad as John Sergeant; and the judges score her accordingly.

Unfortunately I only watch the main show on Saturday evening and results show on Sunday evening. I don't bother with "It Takes Two" in the week.

The last couple of weeks it appears to me as though Anton has been dragging Ann around more than her really dancing.

In some ways I think whoever from the BBC or third parties iss responsible for putting together the routine (producer, choreographer) is partly to blame. Saturday 23 October Ann "flew" into the studio on that trapeze type thing. Surely that was a superfluous stunt (nothing to do with the dance she was doing -Tango) just to make the performance more entertaining and memorable, an extra incentive for viewers to vote her back on sympathy grounds, just to have something even more amusing Saturday 30 October. Perhaps if that stunt hadn't been there, she'd have been in the bottom two with Peter & Erin.

Tina this week fell short - compared to her normal standard, I thought.

Well I thought she was much better than Ann Widdecombe. Tina was 5th on the judges' leader board and deserved to stay another week, whereas Ann and Anton deserved to be eliminated.

For a man who watches Boogie Beebies, a show about having fun with dance and movement, I find your comments very out of character.

Why are you bringing up about Boogie Beebies again? I don't think it's been on for a good while. It was on Good Friday some time but I don't think it's shown up since, until yesterday. Sunday evening looking through the Freeview EPG I accidentally spotted it was on CBeebies yesterday morning and this morning. The fact that I videoed just about every Boogie Beebies dance in 2007, is really nothing to do with my criticism of Strictly Come Dancing 2010.

I'm probably wasting time typing this, as you never ever take on board anyone's opinion but your own. Call me Craig Revel Horwood if you like, but you're therefore a crashing bore.

Well I endorse what Craig Revel Horwood has said the last couple of Sunday results shows about Ann not being in the bottom two.

Sunday 24 October the bottom two were Michelle & Ian v Peter & Erin. When asked if the bottom two was the right result, Craig said “No, it’s wrong, I think Peter deserves to be in the bottom with Ann, not Michelle. I think Ann should be in the bottom two.” In my opinion, Craig was right there. Michelle should have been called out as definitely through. The bottom two should have been Ann & Anton v Peter & Erin, with Ann & Anton knocked out that week. Peter & Erin should then have gone out Sunday 31 October.

Why would you think it was a "serious dance competition", when Len said on the show ON SATURDAY NIGHT that its, "not only a dance competition but also an entertainment programme". He also said they are there to judge on the dance criteria, and its for the public to decide who is the most entertaining.

Didn't you listen to him either?

You just don't take anything in, sir, so I can't keep getting drawn into conversations with you.

Actually, I don't need to say anything.

Come to think of it, I heard Len Goodman say something along those lines, though I think it was actually during Sunday's results show after Craig had criticised about the two couples in the bottom two.

And by the way, Boogie Beebies has nothing to do with Strictly Come Dancing (apart that they both involve dancing, in a form), so why has it been brought up again here. I've just aired my points of view about Ann Widdecombe still being in Striclty Come Dancing when I now feel she's outstayed her welcome given her dance ability.

Well there you are then - from the mouth of the judge.

If it was a serious dance competition then they'd use pro and semi-pro dancers, and they would be judged solely on their technique, interpretation and abilities. I imagine that could be a long running show - perhaps even 49 years on the BBC. They could use lots of presenters over the years, like Peter West, McDonald Hobley, Charles Nove, Terry Wogan, Brian Johnston, Angela Rippon, Michael Aspel, Noel Edmonds, David Jacobs, Judith Chalmers, Pete Murray, and Rosemarie Ford.

OH WAIT - THEY DID.

It was called Come Dancing.

Instead, as a modern take on it, they use celebrities famous for other talents, including those who would seem to have no particular dance ability at all - as an entertaining look at how people pick up a new skill. One could argue that the less naturally gifted they are, the more entertaining it is.

11 million viewers would agree.

Well, you're the man who knows all about repeating the same point endlessly - so it seems a little churlish of you not to allow others to cast up some of your well trodden points right back at you.

Good day, *nods*.

Well to quote Brucie's catchphrase from his Generation Game days:

"Didn't they (Ann & Anton) do well?" Laughing Rolling Eyes

Ann & Anton danced the Charleston tonight.

As soon as they finished dancing, Bruce said "I saw the story - chaos".

Here are the judges' points (incomplete):
Alesha: "It was more of a comedy sketch than a dance routine, thoroughly enjoyable."
Bruno: "Anton take me, Anton swing me."
Craig: "I'm here to try and help you darling, the bounce action was missing entirely, timing missing throughout, the fish lift was an absolute disaster, you spend a lot more time in these routines sitting on your backside, the aeroplane step was diabolical."
Len: Ann and Anton, "AA and you could have done with the AA, but you kept going, and it's never a chore to watch you because it makes me laugh."

The final scores for Ann & Anton were: Craig 2, Len 6, Alesha 5, Bruno 4. Total 17

I just hope Ann & Anton will be in the bottom two tomorrow night, and then be eliminated. I don't care who else is up against them in the bottom two, as long as they're the ones knocked out.

Nope. The bottom two are Michelle Williams and Jimi Mistry. This series is now "Who's going to be runner-up to Ann Widdecombe?"

Well I think it was ludicrous and diabolical that the bottom two were Jimi & Flavia, Michelle & Brendan, whereas Ann & Anton were guaranteed through to next week.

Jimi & Flavia are now out, which I think is wrong as they were quite high on the leader board, and achieved their best judges' score so far this evening. When asked "How sorry are you to be leaving Strictly?" Jimi answered "Gutted". I could see he was very upset.

Ann & Anton who were bottom of the judges' leader board were saved by the viewers again.

This is getting beyond a joke now. I'd like to see Ann do like John Sergeant did two years ago: withdraw of her own accord this week. It would appear that, as long as she stays in, being ranked bottom of the leader board, people will still keep voting for her just to have her in again next week "for another laugh". I'm not finding her at all amusing, indeed I think she's just ruining it for the other better dancers. If the viewers' vote was for "who do you want to leave" I'd have voted for Ann & Anton.

GET. OVER. IT.

If you're planning on bumping your gums every Monday morning about this then think again. You're taking the fun out of the whole thing - and everyone knows your point of view.

Everyone in the competition will go out eventually, but even if she wins it takes nothing away from the achievements of the other participants. Its an entertainment show - there's nothing at stake apart from a plastic trophy. Its ALL for the enjoyment of the audience.

Chris Hollins won last year - not because he was the best dancer but because he was charming and amusing and was a pleasure to watch.

If you don't like it don't watch, or vote a thousand times. Either way I don't care.

I'm struggling that some people don't understand the concept of an entertainment show?! Anne is clearly a winner amongst viewers - she is saved by votes everyweek. I am with Gavin, get over it! Please!

Yup, seconded. (or should that be third-ed?!)

It is an E-N-T-E-R-T-A-I-N-M-E-N-T show and pretends to be nothing else. Unlike The X Factor which has delusions of creating a mega-world-wide superstar, Strictly is purely an entertainment television show for the public to enjoy and clearly it is fulfilling that. As previously said, all you win at the end is some kudos and plastic trophy, so does it really matter if the best dancer wins? Its not like X Factor or So You Think You Can Dance where the most talented singer/dance should win so that the deals they win at the end will actually amount to something. What has Strictly really got to add to the winner's lives? Not a great deal.

Jeez, I never see nearly as much gnashing of teeth regarding I'm A Celeb winners - Strictly is the same, it is JUST a TV show. Of course everyone will have their favourites, but that's about it.

And as with every single show of this nature in the past she will hang around a few weeks longer than perhaps she should, but ultimately will be long gone before the final.
