A bit of a gamble for primetime Saturday night on BBC1, but what do people think about the new 'Strictly Come Dancing' series?

I thought it was quite refreshing really - a nice change from the usual saturday night dross that BBC One has been churning out over the past few years.

Not sure why they're dragging it out on BBC Three afterwards, though - and who on earth is the bloke presenting?! It's not really the type of show you'd expect to see on Three.

What BBC1 needs right now is a variety of programmes on a Saturday evening and with this in mind I think the programme will do quite well mixing the old (Brucie, Come Dancing) with the new (Tess Daley, BBC3 updates).

Great to see Brucie back on a Saturday evening.

I doubt the BBC THREE shows but the concept seems 'new' and refreshing. Brucie can take anything and make it appear reasonable though - even that initially dire quiz he did around 6 months ago wasn't too bad towards the end.

The Jury's out but a reasonable start - it didn't fall flat on it's face Smile

However as to the relative 'performances' well that's another issue. The programme though 8/10.

This guy on BBC Three is really annoying. Why not let Tess present the Three show, instead of this unknown who seems to think he's "cool"? The way he keeps pointing at the camera and saying "Play" is just... Evil or Very Mad Rolling Eyes He's the real life David Brent!!!

The show was under rehearsed and needs to lose its rough edges. It didn’t help that everyone except for Brucie was noticeably very nervous. All the celebs were breathing heavily through stress as much as exertion.
Luckily there’s another seven weeks to go so the dancing’s going to get better and hopefully so will the atmosphere in the ballroom.
Justin Lee is excellent on programmes like Flipside but he’s got to work a lot harder to make this show on Three worth watching.

Justin Lee Collins is brilliant on Flipside (nation217), the show just isn't the same without him - maybe thats why its only on late at weekends for the next few weeks, instead of weekday primetime? I'm sure he'll improve on Strictly Come Dancing on Three.

Justin Lee Collins is on FTN tonight with a repeat of '10 things you should know about'

I think this show should be on in Parky's old slot in future

Well, I thought the whole thing was rubbish, but 'er indoors thoroughly enjoyed it.

I guess that gives a fifty-fifty vote from here at Harvey Towers.

Old fashioned inoffensive entertainment? On BBC One on a Saturday night? Rub my eyes in disbelief. Yep, it's true. There's quite a good show to watch. One thing though, why put shows like this on in the summer and then show dross in the winter? Maybe I am just getting old and worrying about things in a Victor Meldrew sort of way.........

I am still undecided about it!

I enjoyed watching the 'celebs' strutt their stuff on the dancefloor which was quite entertaining but as a PRIMETIME saturday night programme, i dont think it was a great idea for the BBC to air this on Saturday nights!

Bruce was 'okay' but he gave the audience a few menacing glares which made me, as a viewer, feel awkward!

Tess Daly was great but felt she shouldnt outshine Brucie!

Overall the programme was much more watchable and enjoyable than I expected a 'Come Dancing' to be and it might excell if broadcast at 8pm on a Sunday night!

Ill certainly be watching again!

Well done to the beeb for taking a risk with this!
