Brilliant show again last night. Again, most of light entertainment seems to stem from Sir David Frost and That Was The Week That Was. The man has done far more than I ever imagined.
One thing I noticed, while getting on to topical debate shows of the 1980's, Kilroy didn't get a single mention!
Next week its the turn of
variety
- one for ITV execs to watch maybe.

I agree last night show was good,
I was surprised that David Frost was so big in the US! And he fly there every week and fly back every weekend to do show.
It was strange that Mr kilroy never got a mention anywhere,
Also it seem there a lot Overlap in the show, there was a load of clips I seen on there other 6 episodes
It was also fairly lazy research that they used clips of Five's Trisha Goddard when talking about Trisha. Couldn't they be bothered to go into the archives
I'm surprised this series is still running, it seems to be going on and on
Only caught the last few minutes of this which mainly talked about Graham Norton, which considering he's now stuck hosting the worst Saturday night show since the last one, was quite interesting.
He said how he quite liked doing his show five nights a week and then the talking heads went on to talk about him having the potential to replace Jonathan Ross on Friday nights!
It really does seem as soon as he switched to the BBC he was treated as a complete newcomer!
Strange that they made out John Stapleton to be the person behind 'The Time, The Place'. Mike Scott was the original presenter, John didn't take over for years after it started.
Nice bit of research to find clips of Jay Leno and David Letterman appearing with Des O'Connor

Kilroy should have been given a mention and so should have Daytime with Sarah Kennedy which was a twice weekly afternoon talkshow in the style of The Time The Place. Did they mention Afternoon Plus?

Maybe, maybe not but the exact same clips have been unearth before on a previous special about talk shows also shown on the Beeb. I can't remember the title of the programme but Michael Parkinson narrated it. The show was in two parts and took a look at the evolution of the talk show from our side to Stateside across all channels. It was shown at the start of the decade.
