Does anyone have a good word about John Birt?

The guy seemed to be obsessed with cutbacks & saving money.

The answer to that seems to be no, Michael Grade couldn't stand him by all accounts and staff at the time had a very low opinion of him. When he announced that he was a fan of Have I Got News For You, the team reacted to the news as if they found out Hitler was a fan!!

The show on now - "Laughter in the House", is that a repeat of the one a few years ago? Have they gone and cropped the whole show to widescreen? It looks a bit stretched.

If it's been converted to widescreen.... then it shouldn't be stretched

It looked proper widescreen to me, with the clips in 14:9

Laughter in the House was widescreen the first time around - was first transmitted around March 1999.

I go away for two weeks and return to find this show is still going. I thought they would have covered everything but tonight it was the turn of the impressionists. It seems most of the impressionists we have today all originated, or worked on Spitting Image.

It was funny seeing Rory Bremner on the very first Wogan show back in 1985...he seemed a lot less characteristic.

It would be nice to see Spitting Image return but I think its had its day.

...Oh and yes, I had a lovely holiday. Cool

Did they miss out Chris Barrie on that SSpitting Image piece? Rory Bremner stole his impressions of David Coleman and Barry Norman.

I'm sure Noel had a show in between the Breakfast show and NHP, that this show didn't mention. (not telly addicts which they also didn't mention)

They failed to mention a show called 'Whatever Next', which Noel presented ran for a couple of series post TLLBS in the Monday 8.30pm slot, which from memory rated around the 11-12million mark.

They tried to revive it a couple of years ago, but there was some dispute between production rights/ownership or something like that...

Besides all the puppets have been sold off now from what I gather Sad

That's true but in terms of Saturday night TV it was The Noel Edmonds Saturday Roadshow that was the bridge between The Late Late Breakfast Show and Noel's House Party.
