Is it one like Rab C, where us Sassanachs have to put 888 on, to understand what they're on about?

I don't see why Still Game is so "if you're english you don't get it". I mean I know I'm now a Borderer but I find it hillarious. What's so "scottish" about it exactly?

Its that old chestnut (again) that because the accents are Scottish, it will be beyond the comprehension skills of the average Englishman.

Its a bit of an insult on for both parties.

Liver Birds, Auf Wiedersehen Pet, Allo Allo anyone?

UK accents aren't a barrier to 'getting' humour or drama, as much as some cockney geezer might tell you so.

As the good Anne Robinson once said (before she became cynical and small-hair-cutted)...

Hello Everyone!

I'm very tired and I've forgotten all the names, but we'll give it a go anway. I saw the preview DVD about 5 weeks ago now, as it was originally schduled to be shown then, but cancelled at the last minute.

The first episode of the new series - called 'Drama' is a very good one. It's got the return of a bookie who used to be known as someone else and ran off with some of Winston's winings in the past. He realises this, and the bookie is exposed and forced to hand over the money.

There's also a sub plot involving Jack, Victor and whiskey.

It's a great episode and well worth watching. And enough with the whole "you won't get it if you're not Scottish rubbish". A comedy programme is a comedy programme.

Nic xx
