I suspect it loses a lot in translation for many down south, but it has been an excellent show. I say 'has' as this series doesn't quite seem up to the same quality. Still good though.
Unfortunately one side effect of being networked is that it is being shown on a graveyard slot (BBC2, 10pm on Friday, against Big Brother) when in Scotland its popularity justifies being shown on BBC1 at peak time. It's something BBC Scotland is trying to make up for by showing a repeat, but it must still be harming it ratings wise.

About two old men, Jack Jarvis (Ford Kiernan) and Victor McDade (Greg Hemphill). They are still game (hence the title) and usually get into some sort of problem. Hilarious comedy show, more for the Scots rather than the English though.

Almost 2 million viewers on a Friday (10% share), which is good for BBC2..

Is that a network rating or a Scotland-only rating? Either way I suppose it appears to be doing very well considering the competition.
Maybe the BBC have had a brainwave here - it's a programme which could appeal to a very different market than the one which would watch Big Brother.
However it must still be affecting things up here - the amount of people who keep forgetting it is on because it's not on BBC1 is a bit worrying.
