Just noticed that Stephanie Callister - who was one of Sky News' main presenters in the 90s - is now presenting BBC News 24 with Matthew Amroliwalla.

Apologies if she's been presenting for a while - but this is the first time I noticed her on-screen on the BBC.

I noticed her too noggin! I haven't seen her on News 24 before either. She seems fine though, reminds me (don't know why!) of Joanna Gosling.

She's freelance. She was reading GMTV News the other day.

Callister actually married her co-presenter at the time, Chris Mann, another of Sky's top bods.

Also noticed BBC NEWS 24 have added a bit more red to the side of the studio next to the plasma screens......

Yeah, the studio's looking good now - and I think Stephanie's quite a good presenter.

Do you mean 'fine' as in fine presenting or fine looking?

Can I also add that it's still bizarre to NOT to have to wait for the wee small hours in order to get News 24?

What a voyage of discovery this Digital lark is!

So Katherine - you are discovering the delights of daytime News 24 :

Phil Hayton and Joanna Gosling
Val Sanderson and Bill Turnbull
Jane Hill and Matthew Amroliwalla
Gavin Esler and Carrie Gracie
Peter Dobbie or Peter Coe

Oh - and a regular glimps of BBC World at 0935-40ish.

Hope you are enjoying it!

ive had the same experience too! i have recently laid my hands on a dtt box (temporarily) and i have to say daytime news24 is a different style to overnight. its suprisingly informal in comparison - which i didnt expect.

i think they should have a programme at 5pm - like skynews' live at five (do sky still do that?) - i mean like the six oclock news - but at 5 - with a sofa area - for when people arrive home from work - to be like a flagship programme to bring new viewers to the channel - and could even do the same at 9pm - i would certainly watch

Is it just me, or is Matthew Amroliwalla a bit too smug? I've watched him a couple of times, and he really reminds me of a Pierce Brosnan-Prince Charles-Liz Pike hybrid.
