Really depressing news. The way he embraced his meme status (like an actual meme, not the b*****ised term a lot of people use) was really heartwarming, to the point where he sung a live rendition of We Are Number One on YouTube by way of saying thanks to the people who'd raised money to support him. From what I saw, he was a really lovely man.
I'm sad, too, having transmitted loads of Lazy Town shows over the years. Robbie Rotten was such a wonderful character and Stefan a brilliant actor - playing a sympathetic villain and putting everything into your body language to compensate for the inevitable problems caused by dubbing your voice into loads of other languages, must have been a real challenge and one he always rose to.
