Edit: Just ceased 30 mins into the match

Seem to be back on again now. Anyone know how they can key them when there are already real ads there, and not a plain colour background? Is it all done by tracking or are the camera orientations measured, or something?

I think that's more or less how it works.

There was one bit, where the players were in front of the 'ads' in close up. They did have a rather nasty 'Ready Break' halo around them, but worse still a stedicam operator was in front at the same time, and his legs almost totally vanished !. He was wearing all black clothing, the players were obviously in their coloured strip.

Presumably it works as the adverts are static, and it tracks them and keys out anything where the stored image and the received image match.

Is this not classed as product placement as the adverts aren't physically present at the stadium? Did they have the P logo at any point?

I wouldn't have thought so, unless ITV were paid to have them, not the FA.
