Stars In Their Eyes....any idea if it's returning?

New Zealand's TV One channel is doing their own version of 'Stars In Their Eyes' but the UK version was dropped in January 2006 due to the ratings.

If it were to return, it would need a mature presenter, not a 'down with the kids' one like Kate Thronton, Ben Shepherd or Claudia Winkleman. Stars In Their Eyes is an old school programme - young presenters just don't suit it.

I found the 1991 Xmas Special with Leslie Crowther on tape the other day. Back in the days when the studio seemed more glitsy with input from the Ray Monk Orchestra by the stage. Les seemed to be introducing and chatting with the acts backstage with a naff festive beige background which I'd never seen before.

It's not coming back. Not in the foreseeable future, anyway.

I heard it was on hold at the moment so perhaps it will be back. Been a couple of years though since the last series, and they dont seem to do the celeb one off specials much now either.
