Star News

For all I know, it could have been like this for ages, but I noticed today that Star News is currently unencrypted on channel 671. Is this just a mistake, or has it been free to air since last Tuesday (or longer)?

Hmm....Ive not seen Star News since it encrypted. Looks like they have a new on screen logo. Will be interesting to see the on-the-hour logo animation at 3pm (if it remains FTA !!)

Is it me, or are the top (and half, sometimes) of the hour animations etc really quite nice? I also like the music, kind of western but with an Indian flavour to it... and I do like the way that it seems to connect the world from place to place in the animation.

Studio is quite nice and small, sometimes you can see a big Sky News logo in the background, but they can be excused since it's a sister station. Does anyone know where I can find more idents for STAR stations? It looks like, that unlike Sky, they have not lost a corporate look...

I was over in Sri Lanka last year and the Star network had got a very corporate look. Star Sport was the same logo but in red and white. Looking at the trailers for Star Plus running on Star News it seems they have kept the corporate theme and just revamped the channel animations.

I agree - it looks good (especially the way the 'exploding star' theme runs through the logos and trailers) !
