They aren't doing badly, though. In fact, I think I'm seeing more people talk about this on Facebook and Twitter than I would Comic Relief - people can relate to this better than they can to a poverty stricken child in Africa, and whilst it might not show in viewing figures, I'm hearing more and more about it.

Are you actually joking? At 9pm tonight it had 3 trends on Twitter in the UK, during Comic Relief 2011 they had all the trends in the Uk and 6 Worldwide at 9pm. The online buzz/comment is noticeably quiet for it, even Text Santa did better.
Switched to a small studio, sofa and TV with Davina, Christian and Alan presenting. They're been presenting since half 7:30!
I bet that was not live. talk about about cheap fillers
I know there's been a lack in variety but in fairness though it is the first one and its raising money for something that is very close to home for so many people.
For a first attempt £6m is very impressive, especially for Channel 4. The graphics and set have been excellent, as have some of the sequences such as the 'celebrity squares' esque phone sequence and the Olly Murrs prank. Slightly disappointed that the £2m Pound Drop turned into a farce with help from other celebrities but it was in the name of charity so I can't hold it against them.
All in all, a great first attempt despite two technical issues, next year just needs a bit more content to use past 12am.
