Shortlist revealed:

Mo Farah
Christine Ohuruogu
Hannah Cockroft
Andy Murray
Chris Froome
Justin Rose
Sir Ben Ainslie
AP McCoy
Ian Bell
Leigh Halfpenny

Murray obviously the favourite, but really hope that Leigh Halfpenny can secure some support and maybe cause an upset.

As previously reported Sue Barker steps down with Gabby Logan replacing her and joining Gary Lineker and Clare Balding on the night. Personally don't think the BBC should have bothered with having Clare as well considering she hasn't fronted anything of note for BBC Sport this year other than the Boat Race I think. Don't think she's even been on BBC Sport since the Spring.

This has probably been covered in the past, but is there two copies of the trophies in case there was an upset and Murray didn't win?

Presumably so. Wasn't Sue Barker supposed to have some kind of role?

I know someone speculated she'd be there to give him the trophy due to something they read in one of the press releases about her stopping down.

I suspect like the multiple FA Cups that there are several un-awarded SPOTY trophies around, It would seem that the winner actually keeps the trophy that they are presented with, so new ones are needed each year.

Nice to see the BBC copy SVT at the Eurovision and integrate Gary, Gabby and Claire into the archival footage!

How much did it cost to vote? 15p?

717454 votes x 15p = £107618.10 for the telephone companies (minus a bit for the tax man). With this and The X-Factor, it's been a great night for the telecoms industry. Not so good for TV viewers of course. Why don't the BBC use an 0345 number?

There was free online voting as well included in those figures.

There is the original trophy, which is with them on the night, and at least one replica. So Andy will have got a replica and will get the original once it has been engraved. Think I remember reading they keep it for about 10 months.

Looks like more people voted for Sam Bailey than Andy Murray.
