Most of the things on Top Gear are scripted, but I don't think it takes anything away. I couldn't stop laughing today!

Top Gear Does Ground Force was fantastic! What happened to shed was brilliant. Jermery's gun caused damage to the shed, then the Rugby posts fell on top of it and damaged it, then it caught fire due to Hammond's jet propelled barbacue. It was a brilliant episode, the Top Gear team are fantastic presenters but when they do other practical stuff it's brilliant!

Top Gear was great, I couldn't help thinking all the way through about how obvious the gags were but still very funny - especially seeing Hammond go over with that digger whilst Jeremy was doing a piece to camera.

Parky on Jonathan Ross at the moment is very interesting, largely being played straight. Jonathan with a lot of respect and Parky with some very interesting points.

Sir Michael is such a class act, a shame we won't be seeing him do a chatshow anymore.

Ross, whilst not the genius that Parky is, is i think still a class act himself. You only have to watch shows like this to see why 'Lilly Allen and Friends' or whatever doesn't work....

What is this rubbish with Angus Deaton now?

This must be canned laughter. This type of thing wasn't funny when people had to literally cut up rolls of film to create it, nowadays when it can all be created by computer in 10 minutes its like smoking - neither funny or clever.

They did a similar thing with Rowan Atkinson and Politicians about 20 years ago. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ty7qO_RCnWA

Was that even live? (Obviously the clips weren't but was Angus?)

Felt VERY recorded to me. (But that will probably mean it was live !)

OH MY GO...odness. Top Ground Gear Force (which took me ages to say properly, strange thing that) was hillarious. What makes it funny is that none of it was scripted (well the main bits anyway). The look on that rowers face was classic. I am glad they done this as it proves that are great outside of Guildford Aircraft Hangers studios. I couldn't stop laughing!

Crazy fit over.

PS: I also like the way they used the correct Ground Force sound cues and the hybrid opening titles which strangely worked. I hope they bring Ground Force back especially as this gave todays audience a taste of the format.

I can't tell whether you're being sarcastic, but of course it was scripted, mate. It was entirely scripted. You think they had a massive crane waiting on the drive on the off chance the around-a-tree bench wasn't constructed around a tree. Or that they had a massive digger waiting in the wings in case their smaller digger fell into a trench? Of that they were serious when they installed a jet powered barbecue. Or a 'ferrari' of a fountain. Sir Steve was well in on the joke too.

Was a bloody brilliant programme though. Very funny.

That's not quite how I remember the show...

Top Gear was the highlight of the evening absolutely hilarious. Yes it was scripted but so was Porridge. It says something that when Top Gear is nominated for awards these days it's for Best Entertainment Programme, which they recently won at the Television and Radio Industry Club Awards earlier this week.
