No. Surely logic should cause it to be called FN, or FT, or, for one extra letter, FTN?
And V1 is a generally agreed definition anyway, so it's not worth reorganising the coding schema to fit in with anything. And don't claim you invented it.
Anyway, Virgin 1 looks like it's going to be rubbish so I'll be avoiding it deliberately.
Ftn is owned by Virgin, therefore it's a member of the Virgin family of channels, just like Challenge, Bravo, Living etc. Therefore the code for Ftn consists of broadcaster code V (for Virgin) + channel code F (for Ftn) = VF. Get it?
The code for Virgin One will be V1. Explanation: V for Virgin + 1 for One.
Oi Tumbler!
NO!
Fair enough, Ftn then. Since it launched in early 2003, I've hardly ever watched anything on Ftn. According to my records (you see, I log all my TV viewing in my daily diary), the only programme I've seen on Ftn this year is The Krypton Factor from 19:00 – 19:30 on Saturday 14 April. So I won't miss this channel. It's actually closing down for good on all platforms (Freeview, Sky and Cable), is it?
I'm recording a load of Ftn idents tonight while I've got the chance. Do you know if there'll be a farewell ceremony on September 30th worth recording for my TV PRES collection?
Auf Wiedersein Ftn. Guten Tag Virgin One.
