..Unless ITV want to activly push for Britbox subscriptions.
The danger is, most people will wait for all the episodes to be uploaded, and then just binge watch them all on a free 7 day trial offer, then end it before the first monthly charge hits your plastic card bill..
..or try and guess the avoiding keywords in the title when someone uploads the full edition to You Tube..
Britbox offer 30 day free trials. They've even offered another free trial for me as a previous customer.
An ITV repeat contradicts the whole idea of being filmed close to broadcast to keep it topical. If at least a good few months go by and ITV show it, a good chunk of the topical stuff might fall flat.
Or they'll edit it down to a couple of hour long episodes and basically cut out the really topical stuff, and just leave in the still relevent satire sketches, the slapstick and knob gags...

I wouldn't be surprised if ITV show the first episode to promote the rest of the series as being on BritBox.
For me though BritBox is just one subscription too far. Not sure it's on any of my devices either, though it is supposed to be on Freeview Play so I guess I've just not spotted it.

Given a couple of months it'll get an ITV showing. It's exclusivity is a window not forever. It's been described as 'debuting' only.
Although the nature of a topical show means watching it two months late isn’t as appealing.
For me, I wouldn’t mind watching it, but it’s not a big enough draw for me to fork out for another subscription. I just can’t see this giving BritBox a major boost - it’s not like they’ve poached Strictly or the Bake Off.
I don't know if it will drive subscribers directly - I don't think any single programme ever does - but it will certainly make headlines and generate publicity for the service.
BritBox's main appeal is the huge amount of British TV shows and films and having new content alongside the archive will help rather than hinder. They're commissioned a couple of new drama series that will complement the dramas that they have on the service.
