Steve Punt definitely wrote for the show for several years. (He later also wrote the infamous "Ant & Dec" fronted retrospective). I thought Rob Newman had been a performer on it at some stage but perhaps not.

Though you'd ask what trademark issues there are when ITV owns it.

ITV/Central didn't make Spitting Image, it was made by Spitting Image Productions

Also it doesn't mean that the logo design is owned by the same rights holders as the name and format, it night well have been bought in for a certain time/use. I don't know who's producing this new version

But they use the logo in the titles and on the program icon.

Which very well may not have been produced at the same time or by the same people as the actual programme. Getting clearance is tricky, it's often easier to assume you won't get it than to even try.

I’m sure there was some kids tv series in the 80s/90s about a talking chair that has something to do with Spitting Image. They might just have made the chair.

Hmmm.
Show that photo to 100 people without a name caption, and if 20 said Sir Kier, I'd be surprised. Not much to work with. I honestly thought they go down the Max Headroom route with him.

Still waiting for the Chancellors puppet, though.

They produced the stop motion animated series Crapston Villas for Channel 4 in the mid 90s:

They also made these:

Show that photo to 100 people without a name caption, and if 20 said Sir Kier, I'd be surprised.

Show a photo of Sir Keir to 100 people and how many would be able to name him...

I'm sure the name Johnny Condom will resonate with some people on here too.

Private Eye got there first.

Yes. You are quite right. They use a Max Headroom picture in SKS's spoof column. Thanks.

That's enough Private Eye talk. Ed.

Spitting Image also made the sublime Phil Cornwell voiced Gilbert The Alien puppet as seen on Get Fresh, and his own series Gilbert's Fridge.

Surprisingly however they didn't make the puppets in the CBBC show Dizzy Heights.
