Spinning / dancing Tables magic

Hi all,
I have been trying to find any information about a show that involved a bunch of volunteers being taken to a disused ballroom.
Eight or so of the volunteers placed their hands on a small circular table.
After a few moments, the table starts to spin/dance across the room.
Eventually the room is filled with many people dancing with tables.
I think that the term Kinetic Energy was used to describe the cause of the spinning tables.
I saw this on TV about 5 years back.
It could have been part of the same show where a street magician? gave 3 parcels to 3 girls. One contained a valuable item and two were duds. The girls chose the item but he gave them options to swap etc etc. Of course, they ended up with the dud parcel.

Not sure if these two scenes are even from the same show.
Any info about the show or the performer would be great.

Could this have been Derren Brown? I think he may have done something like this. Going back further, David Berglas also did a trick with floating/spinning tables.

Yes. pretty sure it was Derren Brown - though think it was part of one of his regular series rather than any special.

The images posted here look like an old age pensioners day out.
It's not the show I once saw, though the spinning tables bit looks to be similar in concept.

My man was a quite a bit younger and I think he was sort of street hustling - maybe at a beachside area - maybe Brighton or Blackpool???

He might. As I said, I have a sketchy memory of the show in the first place.

I think that he (maybe the man in picture) used 'power of persuasion' to also get people to lend him money for no good reason. Or maybe I'm making the whole thing up.

Well I've looked up Derren Brown on You Tube. I can't find the clip with the tables, but I'm guessing by the various clips that this is the bloke I was searching for.

I don't think Derren ever made it on to Free to Air TV over here in Australia. I probably caught an episode one Pay TV somewhere, hence the confusion. It looks like Derren must have had a series of TV shows in the UK.
