I think I'll be wrapped up in bed with a cup of cocoa and the remote. Not sure whether to spend it with BBC or ITV, perhaps Mary Nightingale will swing it for me.

What exactly should Mary swing?

I shall be up and about at 3am as usual.
According to the Sky Digital 7 day listing then the Sky News Vote 2001 programme starts before anyone else, so I will obviously be watching that before the others.
The Sky News Active Election Night starts at 11pm and finishes at 3am.
I presume that the BBC and ITV are starting at the same time, and News24 has nothing special planned for the day, just the norm news programmes.
The coverage on Sky starts at 9pm and finishes at 7pm the next day! - I think that might be too much for me.
However there will be plenty of chance to capture lots of presentation.
The BBC prog finishes at 6am then goes directly into Breakfast.
ITN News Channel is doing some rubbish 'with all the other news', so I'm not watching that.
ITV... hmm, perhaps but considering their last effort then no I wont be entertaining the 3 button on my remote control.
Will be interested in the opening idents from all three networks though.
My sister is doing the counting for 'Chester City' and they have about 10 televisions on with all of the networks, lucky thing.
The BBC's coverage, whilst in-depth, is typically slow and boring, and you can easily get bored after a while.
ITV's coverage is quite quick and a bit more friendly, but IMO Sky's coverage is the most exciting to watch, and will be especially interesting with this Active Election.

For results: Sky
For Presentation: All 3
For Comedy: BBC2 (if they do what they did last time)
For an insomnia cure: BBC1
For curiosity: ITV
For Interntional perspective: CNN

Yeah, for one night only, you can choose between Big Brother and Little Brother.

Big Brother's on BBC1, Little Brother is on ITV. Smile

I've a few choices here:

Either keep everything as it is and let people post on Election night in this forum or...

Create a new forum specially for Election night or...

Open up the chat room just for that night.

Any comments?

(Of course, everyone might be too busy watching the coverage to post here which is fair enough!!)

Cheers, Asa

Your radio station probably covers two perhaps three parlimentary constituencies, so it wont exactly be incoming results throughout the night! Smile

whats wrong with your radio station investing in a proper telly? - you could read out the lottery results as they happen on Wed/Sat nights!!

Just seen the Sky News Election Night trailer.
Shows some shots of the interactive studios and I have to say I am VERY impressed.
They look excellent, the background changes with moving panels - at least in the trailer- and results etc.
Looks very good indeed.
