It was, Col.

Though I think the announcement was probably slightly different and it definitely was before 'Football Focus' itself.

And now the special logo - in its entirety - has been shown within the programme itself. Good publicity.

Bah, missed that so I could go online... Smile

At least FF is offering a report from our perspective.

Did they show a clean copy, or was it an off-air recording of the symbol complete with an NI anno?

It was clean and complete, though people including Lawrie Sanchez spoke over it, talking about the game.

But sure we will forgive him for anything now - even THAT goal in 1988.

I had a chuckle reading the story earlier this week that he got a better response from the public when he attended a public gathering in Belfast which the Irish president, Mary McAleese, also attended.

There was a wonderful boo from the Proms audience in the Royal Albert Hall when they crossed to Belfast City Hall and someone held up a banner with "Northern Ireland 1, England 0" on it. Very Happy

I saw that, liked the way the camera zoomed in on it to make sure it was seen!

There were a few boos when they went to Scotland too, I noticed.

I have to say, Mark, I am amazed they went ahead with the Belfast event given the problems in some parts of Belfast this evening.

You have to admire peoples' stoicism.

As far as I am aware the trouble is very localised in the usual places, why should a few muppets spoil everyone's evening?

You're right of course, I'm talking like someone who doesn't live here.

Well done to all who turned out - the choir singing Danny Boy/Londonderry Air were superb.
