Watched bits of tonight's C4 show, and it is a great idea for show. I managed to watch, even though Mr Vaughan was presenting, but it will be interesting to see if I can put up with him for the whole series. Usually can't stand him...
At the top of the show last night, did anyone sit and think that the video screen behind Johnny looked awfully cheap and crap? How the hell is that going to look like real space? You can even see the individual screens as it curves round.
Also, those Vauxhall Vectras looked awfully suspect, surely they should have been Opel Vectras? Vauxhalls are only sold in the UK...
I'd like to beleive that we are being told the truth and they really have no idea about it being a massive hoax, but things just don't seem to be adding up for me at the moment..

I can't see how they wouldn't notice the divides between the screens, but they could get away with a projection that isn't very good by having windows in the simulator which aren't very good - they could put in wobbly perspex windows to distort the view and tell them that the view looks distorted because the windows have to be very thick. I'm sure they'd fall for it. In fact, they probably wouldn't notice anyway, they're not the brightest bunch really, are they?!

Just can't help but think there's going to be a "joke's on you" element to this programme.
Like everyone else it just isn't "believable" enough to convince me that everyone knew nothing.
Though if you're told enough times by people who are confident in what they say then we'll believe anything. I mean we could see the joins in J a r o n couldn't we...yet so many believed.

Well apparantly it has a definition three times greater than HDTV.
One thing I hadn't thought about is that if just one person discovers the hoax - or the actor bails out knowing he justs a few yards from earth - there is no get out clause once the mission begins.
They can hardly let one person leave when they are supposed to be thousands of miles from earth - and also the confined space means no chance of a private conversation for producers to tempt anyone who figures it out not exposing the hoax!
Bit of a poor start, 2.6m. Will probably struggle as well tonight.
Not really - it's on a par with The Games and not too far off what Big Brother got at launch. Those predicting figures of over 6m were never being realistic.
Also, it was in a tough slot last night, but I expect the audience will grow night on night.
The Sunday night launch of the actual mission is also in a tough slot against the Royal Variety on ITV and Sports Personality on the BBC.

But don't foget it was up against 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! Coming Out!' and the David Attenborough Nature show, both of which did fairly well.
Tonight it will be up against Little Britain and Doc Martin - so it really will struggle. On Saturday it will struggle as well, the semi finals of The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing will mean it's going to get fairly low ratings..
This seems like very poor scheduling by Channel 4 - they could have easily broadcast this in the 10pm slot to avoid any clashes - surely the audience they're aiming this show at will be watching Little Britain at 9pm??

The audience probably used to watch Little Britain, but now think it's crap.
Also, on Saturday the X Factor results are at 8.30pm as boxing is on at 9pm.
