I wouldn't be suprised to find that the strange events were to let them catch on so it won't be as much of a shock/letdown when they find out. If they already have their suspicions, it won't be as big of a blow. And the 25 grand they're getting will soften it even more.

They have? I was watching the live feed earlier, and they didn't seem aware of it there.

Easy to explain away that one though.
One of the more boring things I remember from biology lessons at school is that a fly's metabolisum (I never learnt how to spell it properly) is far slower than a humans, and they can live without food for several days.
Which could just about get them off the hook

I think the ending was a bit of an anti-climax, could have handled it better, but the interview at the end is very good.

I thought the ending was very good and glad they did it mid-mission, rather than bringing them back down to "earth".

It was quite clever that once they'd pretty much become convinced it was a hoax to delete their doubts with the main event - a space walk - and the slow realisation on their faces was classic.

They could have just opened that pod up into a darkened studio, let them get out then turned on the lights to reveal the audience - though I think the slow realisation possibly made better TV than a shock reaction.

It was a good interview, and the stuff on the satellite show after was good too.

It's a shame it flopped big style, but overall I quite enjoyed the series - though I thought the build up and training was far more interesting than the mission itself.

And finally - a classic line from Paul on tonight's show when Keri suggested it might be a simulator:
“We’d better be in space. It can’t be a simulator – they wouldn’t go to all that trouble!”

Enjoyed the whole series. I felt the break immediately after they were brought into the studio kinda ruined it but other than that, it was great. It's just a shame it wasn't overwealmingly popular. No chance of a DVD I suppose.

TBH I'll just be glad to get E4 music back on air.

I've enjoyed it too, there was no Beadle/Edmonds "nastyness" about it, and they seemed to take it well even though there was also clear disapointment mixed in - I felt sorry for them in a way. The reveal was done well - by showing clips of themselves questioning the reality of it all, it softened the blow quite a bit. I'd really like a follow-up show interviewing the actors, and the cadets in a bit more detail, and also to see them really go to Russia for the real zero-gravity flight.

The idea for the series was good enough, Johnny Vaughn did a great job, the Cadets (particularly Paul) and the actor "Charlie" were entertaining enough - but somehow the public's imagination wasn't captured by those first couple of dry shows, and some very competitive scheduling of late.

Where's "The Guvnor" gone to... Do you still think it was all faked?

There's people on the Channel 4 forum who still think it was all faled, somepeople you'll never convince. Still, most of the double-hoaxers have fallen mysteriously quiet. None of them have admitted they were wrong, they've either walked away with their tail between their legs or are still insisting it was a hoax (though logic tells you that there's no point it being a hoax on viewers if you're not going to tell them!)
