Rival broadcasters are bracing themselves for the launch of a new Channel 4 daily peak time reality show from Big Brother producer Endemol early next month.
Advance schedules for the week beginning Monday December 5 show a new 60-minute Channel 4 programme stripped each night in the network's peak time line-up, with the title TBC - to be confirmed.
Channel 4 is expected to unveil the new show tomorrow, when it will also have to confirm its schedule for the week beginning December 5.
The show could be a new series of Endemol reality formats The Games or Celebrity Big Brother - although the broadcaster announced earlier this month it was planning to bring back the latter for a new run early next year.
But Endemol is also said to have been developing another spin-off from its successful Big Brother format.
Whatever the new Channel 4 show turns out to be, it could end up going head-to-head with the fifth series of ITV1's own flagship reality format, I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!.
The show returns to ITV1 at 9pm on Sunday and should end on December 5 if it follows its normal scheduling pattern.
However, there have been suggestions that ITV might extend I'm a Celebrity for another week, to maximise the ratings return from its biggest reality show.
A Channel 4 spokeswoman declined to comment on the new show.
