No, I think they look awful, Giles has THE perfect face for radio and John just sounds too whimsical. Sounds like he's reading a story out of a Bob The Builder book.

Hi,
I'm new here, but just came to say that i've uploaded a video of the main South East Today intro. (it was 20kb too big to use the File Upload Service) and you need RealOne Player to view it (I can't encode RV8, only RV9).
Available here: http://www.windoze.biz/BBC South East Today - New.rm
Apologies about the slight quality loss, I don't have the best capture card in the world
Regards,
James

Well, there's that bloke who used to do TV Travel Shop.
He lives locally and has all the right background.
Started life as a tech op for a high profile news programme, if I remember rightly.
I'll abstain from mentioning its name!

Actually you can use Real Player 8 with an update (it'll ask you to upgrade though).

South East Today looks cheap, tacky and and is oh so dull to watch.
The news packages are far to long, anything more than 1'.30" and it's been proven that the viewer's attention will start to move in another direction. The programme needs a good re-launch. New presenters who know how to put make-up on, new set, and a new weather girl.
Meridian south east still leads in terms of viewer numbers. In fact, it's Meridian's number one news region, outstripping Newbury and Southampton!

Does anyone actually watch South East Today? It isn't discussed much in the forum compared to some regional news magazines and doesn't seem to have a huge on-going "official" thread like some regions.
Doesn't anyone here live in the Meridian/BBC South East region?
