The South East Today bulletin at 15:50 today was a little odd. First, we see Newsroom SE titles, then it cuts to SE Today titles, then throughout the bulletin we get glimpses of the NSE for a fraction of a second each.

At the end, the music was like the national news (is this normal?).

It sounds as though they were cutting between NSE and SET and the end music was from UK Today

I would have thought Tunbridge Wells would be opting out of the national feed, but it sounds like they're opting out of the London opt-out. I wonder why...

Yes - I would have thought that Tunbridge would have opted out of Network (and UK Today) rather than a dirty feed of BBC London.

BBC Cambridge and BBC Jersey also have to opt out of dirty feeds (BBC Norwich and BBC Plymouth respectively) but they are only sub-opts, and need to have the feed of their sustaining 'mother' region, cos that is part of the programme!

There is a remote possibility that the transmitter could be switching to an off-air feed of Crystal Palace (aka BBC London) if the incoming feed of Tunbridge was exhibiting faults. That could be another explanation.

Incidentally, BBC Cambridge has suffered this random opt-back problem since it launched. In most cases it was caused by the signal from Cambridge being slightly non-standard - often caused by problems in Norwich (which Cambridge is locked to), or on one mad occasion a problem in Elstree on the Network (Norwich was locked to Network!) - causing the transmitter to switch back to Norwich.
