This just landed across my desk - sounds funny
London, UK (for immediate release) – Film24 would like to invite you to get to know the Ingrams, TV’s latest and greatest dysfunctional family and the stars of the outrageous and downright hilarious SORDID LIVES, premiering on Sky 157 from 2 August, 2009.
Following the uniquely dysfunctional Ingram family, SORDID LIVES is equal parts Desperate Housewives and Kath & Kim and features a host of well-known faces as you’ve never seen them before. Peggy (Rue McClanahan, TV’s Golden Girls) is the matriarch of the family. Having an affair with her daughter’s best friend’s husband, she has also just taken in Bitsy Mae Harling (Olivia Newton-John, Grease), a Country and Western-loving ex-con who introduces Peggy to the wilder side of life at the local bar. Then there’s Latrelle (Bonny Bedelia, Die Hard) and LaVonda (Ann Walker), Peggy’s pill-popping daughters, Brother Boy (Leslie Jordan, Will & Grace), a Tammy Wynette-obsessed drag queen who is in ‘secure accommodation’ at a mental institution and Ty (Jason Dottley), Latrelle’s actor son, based in LA and on the verge of coming out of the closet.
The latest critically acclaimed comedy to come from America’s cable networks, the outrageous SORDID LIVES has never been seen on TV in the UK before now and promises to be a smash hit as it heads up Film24’s exciting new schedule for Summer 2009. What’s more, with a host of famous faces behaving like you’ve never seen them before, the series promises to appeal to existing fans, newcomers and comedy-lovers alike.
