True crime is on the local muitplex so not many people will get it. How do there expect to get the viewers from the limited range?
MA
The cost/overheads are low though, so cost:benefit etc stacks up quite well, and because the transmissions are QPSK, reception often goes quite a distance (much further than the target editorial areas of the local station concerned)

Surly there would want to switch some of the channels around to give it a better reach? Why make such an effort to over promote it?

Dunno, I'm sure they've done their sums. Total combined population coverage for the local muxes is 25 million, COM 4/5/6 is about twice that, but I suspect carriage costs on local mux network is proportionably less ?

It supposed to be 25 millions but I'm in the catchment area for it and I still can't get any or newer channels and my aerial ( isn't that old) can't pick them up. It wouldn't be to surprising if there were many people like my goodself. I know a good number of other people just cant get the channels either. There not going to pay for aerials changes.

Which local mux area are you in, presumably one of the Scottish ones ?
So you can't get your local STV 2 either ?

Virgin Media's EPG has just been updated and shows the Sony Channel will continue with a revised schedule and will not close!
Programmes include Satisfaction, Will & Grace, 10 Years Younger, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International, Community, Spooks, Soldier Soldier, Hot in Cleveland, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, The Guardian, Hustle and movies.
Maybe the channel will also continue on Sky, BT, TalkTalk and TVPlayer?
Looks like the Sony Crime Channel is just a rebrand and revamp of True Crime and not a merger with the Sony Channel as reported.
