I thought S&D finished years ago (shows how much I watch five ) Very Happy

Are these episodes fresh from Oz, or did it finish there some time ago?

Perhaps he has (gasp!) a VCR or DVD recorder! Surprised

Yeah, Five began repeating the show at 1.30pm weekday afternoons from March-December 1998. It was then off the air until January 2002, when the remaining episodes began playing at around 4am Saturday and Sunday mornings. Now its regular time-slot is usually 5.10am Saturdays and Sundays.

I have watched all the re-runs and enjoyed them, but the final two years or so of the show were a mere shadow of the early days. The final episodes are far from disappointing, though.

Just a couple of more weeks left to the final episode, probably going to be on Sunday, 6th of November. Episode 972.
I wonder if Glen will be on hand at Channel Five to see the grand old series come to a close.

i certainly hope so - i don't think the lazy scottish announcer woman who has re-used the same tired script again and again would do it justice

"<insert some trivial h&a story line> catch up with the weeks home and away this morning at 11.25, now, sons and daughters"

mind you - the other bloke (that's not glen) is as bad, he seems to just read out the episode synopsis followed by "in the first of 2 episodes now, of sons and daughters"

Trish Bertram is a fan of the show - she normally comments on the episodes, but not in the same way that Glen does.

All i remember from S&D is the theme music and seeing Anne Haddy from Neighbours in it.

Did ITV actually manage a complete run of S&D & Young Doctors?

(A half 3 staple on Central in the early to mid 80's!)

I liked the comments the announcer used to make over the end credits of Sons and Daughters in 1998 too when FIVE showed it at lunchtimes.

Yes I believe all ITV regions showed Sons and Daughters from start to end but Central were the first to finish in 1988 and Granada the last in 1994 (I think). My region HTV finished in 1991 and I remember the last episode.

it's good to see people enjoying S&D years after it finished.
