I have nearly completed my regional news collection! I need the following ones. If you can capture any of these for me I would be very grateful!

BBC Look North (Newcastle) Sting
BBC Look North (Leeds) End
BBC Look North 'Still to come' Sting (no end beats)
BBC East Midlands Today End
BBC Midlands Today End
BBC Look East Still To Come Sting
BBC Look East End
BBC Spotlight Sting
BBC Spotlight End

The only ones which I probably cannot get are Spotlight Channel Islands and Newsline (for the time being anyway!)

So if you can help me, I would be very grateful!

Yes, but the clips from other sites aren't really good quality.

Also, clips on other sites often have headlines, balloons and presenters speaking on them, which are quite annoying. I prefer to ask people nicely to capture them without this stuff on them, i.e. just the idents.

I think I have Points West coverered, but I really would like the Spotlight sting, as I've never seen this at all!

Just for anyone interested (I noticed Rob used the word 'idents' by mistake Smile ):

Ident:-
An identification symbol (ident or symbol) is the name given to that which identifies a channel, traditionally the bit shown before a programme
starts. The balloons are idents, the news titles are not.
However logos can appear within idents.

Sting:-
A sting is any short piece of audio or video which accompanies an event, eg
news headlines whose intention is to grab your attention.

Animation (in TV presentation terms):-
An animation, animated short or short are the names given by BBC people to the interstitials between trails. Such animations have also been used
between programmes on occasions, particularly by BBC2.

Hope that helps!

Cheers, Asa

Animations that can also be called bumpers, which i'd have thought was the more commonly used term.

That's okay! Smile It was just a debate on here a while back and the thread was brought up by Andrew on MHP and I thought everyone might like to know the official stance!

I can get Look East stuff as we have that as an alternative region on our digibox.

Not sure when I'll be capturing it though, I always have trouble getting everything perfect when capturing.....

Don't worry I'm sure you'll be fine! When you've done them, send them to me by the e-mail above. Thanks - I'm very grateful!
