Anyone else reckon that the first part of this show they came up with was the name, and then they hastily cobbled up the rest of it around it?
Why are the BBC trying so hard to make Norton out to be some sort of family entertainer? He never has been and never will be, he's a crude and unfunny guy who's entire career has relied on him making knob jokes.

I thought the same, just like Only Fools on Horses in that respect

I wonder, is Graham actually interested in these singing and dancing shows he's being given to present, or just treating them as work
And by the way, I see we are being saved from Only Fools AND horses repeats this year, instead they are repeating Green Green Grass instead!
I really enjoyed this show. No particular favourites so far but a couple to keep an eye on.
I hope next week they show some of the drama lessons, as the drama teacher on this series is Jeremy Stockwell, who I worked with last summer and was an amazing tutor if only a little weird.

I like seeing Only Fools and Horses though. I mean, ok, over the past years it has been repeated far too much and I agree it was right for them to cut down but at least show the odd episode once in a while.
I'd rather see Del falling behind a bar again than Graham Norton smirking and applauding as if he has an in-depth interest in this talent search. Graham should have stayed with Channel 4 or even put him on Sky. The BBC and these "talent" shows are not the vehicle for Graham at all. You need someone like Vernon or Tess to host this.
To quote my dad: "Oh these bloody programmes are on all the time!"
EDIT: Hurry up with the forum database revamp - this "too busy" nonsense is driving me mad.

I'm not so sure. I'd prefer some different sitcoms being shown rather than exactly the same one all the time. I haven't got a specific one but there must be something other than Only Fools and Horses? I just can't stand all the references everyone now makes to Del Boy, it just irritates me. I wouldn't mind Dad's Army or Yes, Minister really, just something that hasn't been shown as often. If it was OFAH or this Maria thing I'd switch off.
Why the **** are they making a full series out of this ****?
Quite simply as it will bring in revenue once those old phone lines start ringing from next week.
If you're talking about HDYSAPLM - then you're mistaken. The BBC are not allowed to make any profit from phone or text voting. They ARE allowed to donate proceeds to charity, but unlike ITV shows, they aren't allowed to use any text/phone income to subsidise their productions, though I believe they may be allowed to cover the actual cost of collecting and processing the voting results.
I think the main problem the show had was that it didn't concentrate on the acts that much. There was the young girl at the beginning who sang 'Think of Me' and was fantastic. ALW praised her about her talent, yet I have no idea whether or not she got through, even though she was the best singer on the programme.
For a show such as this to be successful he audience must be able to take an interest in an act, and follow their progress. I think the first programme failed in this respect.
