Going slightly off the specific topic, but I was lucky enough to find one of four supernovae (one of type 1a, which is what they were really looking for) on Stargazing Live/Zooniverse's crowd-funded supernova finding thing, and got Skype-interviewed for Back to Earth. So if anyone was, for some reason, wondering just what's involved in being Skype-interviewed, now would be a good time to ask me before my aging memory starts playing tricks on me.
There were a few phone calls with various members of crew, a couple of Skype audio/video checks which weren't looking too good at first, but later on the quality seemed to improve a lot. Another Skype call later to check audio call quality into the studio, then I was brought on for a first rehearsal with Dara. There was meant to be a second, timed rehearsal for Back to Earth which never took place in the end, but while I was on the line waiting I did get to see the end of the rehearsal for the main show, the most interesting bit of which was, for me, seeing just how genuinely enthralled and enthusiastic Liz Bonnin and Dara O'Briain were over the crowd-funded composite image of Orion. Poor Brian Cox was trying to carry on with the rehearsal while Liz and Dara seemed to forget about the whole thing and just kept asking Chris Lintott questions about how it was done.
Then I got called on Skype about 21:45 and left on there until my bit, with another check-up phone call from another crewmember at about 21:55 who didn't know I was already on Skype. I mentioned this to my Skype contact (who would dip the studio audio I was otherwise hearing when he needed to speak to me), who jovially admitted that, yes, they could get live pictures of an eclipse from a plane over the Faroe Islands, but he couldn't talk to a "man in a van" just outside.

Keeps the heat in at night, in theory. Also came in handy yesterday to block all the light coming through the blinds so they could get a good idea of the eventuallighting during the daytime tests.

I wonder if it's to reflect the light from the lamp that's being shone into the corner?

Actually yes, I did use it partially for that purpose, but it was already up in the window for other reasons (see above).
And it's a survival blanket, not bacofoil
