Just look at all the exclusives the BBC have with this story, and they can start using them now the verdicts have been released, videos of Ian Huntey being interviewed by police,, in-depth interviews, and some are being watermarked in the top right hand corner with the BBC News logo.

ITV News have had the video of Ian Huntley inteviewed by police, and other things so BBC don't really have any exclusives. Even This Morning spent 10 minutes on the verdict, as well as the extended bulletin at 5 to 12 and one hour of Lunchtime News. Clap clap to ITV, once again.

Robotic Rachel explained that right underneath the courtroom there was another room in which journalists could hear everything going on in the courtroom above. Presumably because they weren't actually in the courtroom of the trial, they were able to relay events to outside the court from this room.

See this post in the ITV News thread for more on this

Think they all got the verdict on Carr wrong at first. Nick Owen on ITV got just about everything wrong, and had to break into Mark Austin's live from Soham to correct himself.

AFAIK, the overhead shot of Soham is not from a helicopter, think the Beeb and Sky have cherrypickers out there. Certainly no helicopter noise... unlike at the Old Bailey, where it seems there's an entire fleet overhead. Also interesting to see Sky and the Beeb employing their polecams outside the court.

I think the channels are all reeling out their info that couldn't be revealed during the case, certainly not the case that it is only the Beeb who've got previously unknown information.

You'd really think News 24 would just get rid of that sign language woman.

The ITV News Channel didn't simulcast London Today and Andrew Harvey continued from 1.20pm. A second example in as many weeks that shows that the ITV1 simulcasts can and will be dropped when Breaking News happens

Interesting to see the Beeb doing stuff from the centre of Soham; they did earlier say that all of the media were in a field away from the town at the wishes of those in the community.

Be quiet you little troll. ITV News, as c@t said above, got A LOT of the initial detials wrong, i.e. they **** up. Sky News and BBC News were more caucious and measured when the verdicts came through, both only getting the last Carr verdict incorrect, before it was corrected quickly.

You obviously haven't been watching BBC coverage, so you are in no position to judge about exclusives etc.

BBC One were in a normal summary and had some problems going to their correspondent, but the schedules after that were VERY QUICKLY altered to switch to a News 24 simulcast, to the extent that only a few seconds before the switch, some Next captions still had the original programme listed. The One O Clock News was also extended, so that 1 hour 45 minutes compared to sparse 40 minutes on ITV.

Sky are showing the bit of police video with the BBC News thing over it... but done a strange crop

11.55-12.15 and 12.30-13.30 is 1 hour 20 mins to me, not 40 mins!

There was also a discussion on This Morning

ITV News is also back at 2.30 with an ITV News Special

Also I don't see why you are calling a previous poster a troll for just having an opinion that is different from yours

I think that is because the BBC showed the original material in an incorrect aspect ratio - but with the DOG burned in. If the material is converted back to the correct aspect ratio the DOG will be cropped.

Ironically the BBC have decided to replace Crimewatch UK now with a 'special' edition of Real Story Rolling Eyes

Either that, or they've moved it.

Why? Are BSL readers second class citizens who don't deserve to be informed of breaking news? Isn't that discrimination?
