What kind of software are normally found in TV Studio Galleries? Do TV shows have seporate sotware for videos, graphics, sound effects ect? and what happens when a show has finnished, does the studio show a testcard?
Up until 1999 most equipment was stand alone with different protocols that didn't speak to each other. At IBC that year the Mos protocol was announced which was to become a common "language" for differing equipment to be able to communicate.
Although these days, there are many different suppliers of gallery and studio equipment, there is the technology to control them cohesively. BBc at W1 will be using technology that brings many elements together.
When a standalone show finishes and once network has taken over, there is little need to show a testcard, although fading to black is deemed safest in case of any network glitches...as displayed above(when there was no fade to black)
