Here's the trailer . . .

Something a bit different there - looks absolutely stunning though not sure how effective it is at actually promoting the games.

Indeed. Certainly different. And will probably all come together in the titles. But yes, in terms of actually promoting the sport - not so sure. And the tagline 'Nature . . . Who will conquer it' seems to forget about 50% of the sports altogether.

Preferred their 2010 effort with the animation, and "Cry Me a River" soundtrack.

Looks like The Last Leg won't be nightly during the Paralympics - a new series begins on 31st January and will "take a weekly look at the stories and highlights from the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games", with "two Sochi Last Leg Specials in March during the Winter Paralympics".

As much as I think The Last Leg is great I can't help but think one of the reasons why it isn't on nightly during the Winter Paralympics is because they really annoyed the Russians in the last series, so much so to the point that the Russian embassy contacted Channel 4 to warn them on their gags at Putin and their anti-gay stance. Shame really but good to see it back on a Friday night, hopefully in 45/50 minute format not half an hour...

I'm sure Channel 4 don't care and had they been on nightly they would've done it from the UK.

At least it's back on Friday's. An end of week review doesn't quite work on Wednesday's.

I think it's only a problem if you want to be particularly anal about it.

Of course I am. That's what this forum is for. Being anal about things to do with television. That's what 90% of the posts on this forum are.

The show went out on Fridays, it had a Friday atmosphere. Then it got moved to Wednesdays and, what do you know, it didn't work.

So you're just being anal for the purposes of the forum and it's not a real opinion? I was just responding to what I thought was the reasoning for you not enjoying the programme.
The show went out on Fridays, it had a Friday atmosphere.

Well that's a different point.
Then it got moved to Wednesdays and, what do you know, it didn't work.

I don't agree it didn't work. If they use the last seven days, they've still got as much comic content on a Wednesday as a Friday it's only if you're taking it too literally as a review of the last week's events that it's going to be a problem and it's never a good idea to hold too much importance on the format of panel shows as a viewer, they're just a structure to base comedy around.
