No Sue Barker again. Sad They really are phasing her out, aren't they.

Looks very good apart from that, though. Obviously they wouldn't have got the red button broadcast streams together for a more minority event such as the Winter Olympics - great to use the Connected TV and website to show a decent number of streams.

She only did Ice Skating commentary last time, I think there was a good chance Sue didn't want to do this if she didn't want to do SPOTY.

Seems like Clare Balding is very much the lead.

Very good chance she'll double head and do the Paralympics for C4 as well.

Will be interesting to see what they do with The Daily Politics...

I think the Paralympics will clash with Cheltenham next year so they'll be a decision needed on where she's most valued to them.

Surprised Gabby Logan isn't involved though then again it does clash with the Six Nations.

I've just noticed that Sue is indeed down to be commentating on the figure skating again. Excellent news. Smile

Won't it also clash with Splash for Gabby?

Don't think it's confirmed in today's release but reports at the weekend quoting Clare Balding as saying that she will be going to Russia to cover the games, so presumably it'll be anchored on location, which is all for the better - though in Vancouver they literally were on location most of the time and didn't seem to use the studio too much for the daytime snow sports coverage.

Yes, you can't expect someone to give up such a prestigious sporting event for the Winter Olympics.

Presumably, the production team of Splash will have negotiated the dates of the Winter Olympics to ensure that their filming dates don't clash.

I was quite surprised to see she's returning for that considering her standing (but perhaps not her pay cheque) seems to have risen at BBC Sport over the last few years.
