Why so generic Granada? Using the same name for YTV and Meridian's local footy highlights progs, and for Granada and Meridian's 1.05pm lifestyle progs (Lunchtime Live)
http://www.meridian.tv.co.uk/blobs/miniblobs/soccer2.jpg
I think ALL regions use the Soccer Sunday name now**
I think it might be something to do with the ITV Football rights, I think 'live' matches are to be part of Soccer Sunday at some point during the season
** Tyne Tees and UTV don't have a football programme, STV & Grampian do their own Scotsport thing
Hmm Soccer Sunday was originally broadcast only in the HTV Wales region but since Carlton have got their grubby hands on them they have changed all the Carlton football progs on a sunday to the new name and all use the same titles, graphics, music and astons. Not too sure how Meridian and Granada fit into this generic Soccer Sunday thing though:(
So its HTV wales, HTV west, Carlton central, carlton westcountry, carlton london, granada and meridian that now use the HTV format for Soccer sunday but once again get no credit at all!
This is also happening with HTV West's music programme 2bdiscovered.com where it was origianlly broadcast in the htv west region only but is now covering all the carlton regions but with differents versions for each region!
Maybe in a similar vein to the latest series of Carlton's Pulling Power which originally was produced by carlton central but this series is produced by carlton westcountry and is '' a carlton production'' but when the exact same episode is shown on HTV wales and west the end credits show ''a HTV production'' even though it is 100% the same programme - are they allowed to do this within the itv regulations?

Er, ohwhatanight, I was referring to Granada Media Group,
not
Granada TV - they own both
Yorkshire
and Meridian. Don't forget HTV and Meridian were ionce both owned by the same company - I think Carlton and Granada adapted the name for all their regions when they aquired HTV and Meridian.
Anyone know what Anglia call their football show? AIUI Anglia is also now owned by Granada Media Group - (Anglia, Meridian and HTV were all acquired from United by Granada, but under current broadcasting regs Granada had to divest itself of HTV to avoid capturing too much of the share of ITV advertising revenue)
I think HTV was bought by Carlton

It was - I said that Carlton and Granada had aquired HTV and Meridian. Anglia's football show is called Kick Off. http://www.anglia.tv.co.uk/programmes/

It maybe called Kick Off at nights, like Carlton just use 'Carlton Sport', but on Sundays they call it Soccer Sunday, as do LWT.

Soccer Sunday isn't on Anglia's programme list - their site must need updating.
