I may be tempting flaming here but AFAIK I am in a rather rare position on the board as being one of its members with musical training.
Firstly, Martine McCutcheon essentially serves no purpose on the panel. She is a lightweight and has minimal qualifications; she was a crap actress at best, and an even worse judge of musical talent. Michael Ball and Chris Cowey are really the only ones who PROPERLY know what they're talking about - Michael Ball having been classically trained and having performed in West End and Broadway shows for years (as well as... that Eurovision appearance) and Chris Cowey having produced some rather fab shows. Billy the Yank is just a bitch who concentrates rather too much on the wardrobe aspects.
Secondly, if this show can have a live orchestra, why the hell can't The X Factor? Are celebrities the only ones who are deemed worthy enough to perform with live musicians?
Thirdly, Leon or Tupele should win. All the others are crap.

Anyone here with inside knowledge? I had tickets for tonight's show but I got an email from Granada last week saying that due to "unforseen circumstances" they've moved to a much smaller studio and as a result unless you have priority tickets you don't stand much of a chance of getting in. Gutted!!

Generally with a show like this it's a case of your tickets have been given to some minor celeb!

I applied for tickets for this show as well - im on the Granada studio audience mailing list - however I heard nothing back from them so phoned them up to ask and they said places were very limited and I hadnt been successful. I needed to know as I live in South Wales at the moment so its a 4 hour train journey up to Manchester not to mention arranging overnight accommodation so I cant just pop along on the off chance! In a way im glad I wasnt sucessful as id have been well pissed off had I booked a hotel, train tickets and time off work to go and then they e-mailed me the day before to tell me I couldnt!
No wonder places are limited, most of the audience are cast members from Corrie, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks!

Zoe Ball's good at this but doesn't really carry it off like Kate Thornton does.
A lot of the production does remind me of a Sky One version of X Factor but it isn't all that bad.

Indeed - fortunately it's not so inconvenient for me.
We went along and queued for a while on Water Street, they then let us in to the bar (the Rovers Return, of course) telling us that we were not guaranteed entry and we wouldn't know if we got in or not until about 8:45 after all the "production guests" had been seated. Anyway, like mugs we hung around until then before being told there wasn't any room for us, so off we went! 3 hours waiting around for nothing. I have to say the whole way in which it's organised is terrible, they were very apologetic but still, it was a bit of a shambles. They'd also messed up the allocation of the wristbands so nobody quite knew who was "next in line" so to speak.

Well when I went in the studio audience to a show last summer they didnt take us into the Rovers return but to a place in the large warehouse building. We had drinks there and everything but I am wondering if they took the audience of "The Price Is Right" which was being filmed next door, into the Rovers Return instead!
Did they give you priority tickets to another show? Im sure they have to do that if you are turned away from a recording. I agree that they do need a better system - if you are given tickets you should be allowed entry, end of story. I would be happy to pay for tickets if it was guranteed entry.
