What were the ratings like?

8 million for episode one.

8 MILLION??? Obviously, 8 million people who haven't got anything better to do with their lives on a Friday night than sit around and watch Fern Britton for 2 hours!? Rolling Eyes

I'd like to know your source. We don't normally find out Friday ratings until Monday.
There's no way it will have got 8 million

It's not impossible.

I would be surprised if it got anywhere near 8 million. I also suspect the reason they are only showing it for 9 days rather than several weeks is to play safe incase its a flop in the ratings.

I was that bored with it last night I didnt bother watching tonight.

It's not impossible.

Its unlikely though. Big Brother on C4, New drama on BBC1, Low Inheritance from Tonight. Two hour running time, Friday night. All that stacks against it.

I'm sure late last year ITV bought Friends Reunited from the orig creators, Seems ITV couldnt even find a sponsor for this show so there having to do it them selves.

I don't think those ratings will hold, they might for Saturday and Sunday but I have a strong feeling Life On Mars will provide stiff competition.

Also a figure of 8 million isn't impossible, remember tv companies still get overnight figures for weekend shows even if they aren't released to the general public until Monday. If the ratings for SCD and The X Factor finals were announced on Sunday by ITV and the BBC then they can certainly know the ratings for a Friday show the next day. I'd really like to know what other shows got during that time as well.

Well I do remember a few days after Walking With Dinosaurs aired that announcer said the viewing figure for the show. If it gets 8 million again I'll be amazed. Unless the people that vowed never to watch again were replaced by a whole new bunch to keep it at 8 million.

It was mentioned within the programme, not by the continuity announcer.

Well Comic Relief does Fame Academy average around 8 Million so it's certainly not impossible, that was on every night for a certain number of days. I watched the last half hour tonight and I thought the format of it wasn't too bad, but there's just elements of it which are far too tacky for my liking.

It's possible that Soapstar Superstar peaked at 8million viewers during a 15 minute period, but had a lower average rating throughout the show.
