Soapstar Superstar

Thought it was absolute crap. Fern was too controlling fo my liking, and the judges are dire. Even the theme music was unthoughful; it sounded a lot like the X Factor when the "soapstars" were coming on stage!

I disagree, I didn't find it boring, although the way you've asked the question in a leading manner I'm sure everyone with agree with you

Good to see Cilla back on ITV where she belongs.

Also some of these soapstars have a real talent, plus at least they are people you've heard of actually doing something with a purpose

The only difference between this and the X Factor is that its celebs and there are different presenters/judges. And we get to choose which song they get to sing tommorow from a choice of 2.

I think it wouldnt have been so bad if it has been shorter - even the X Factor live shows didnt go on this long when they had 12 contestants!

How many episodes of this have we got to put up with?

In the world of talent shows that's actually quite a big difference. The only similarity is that there's singing and judges!

The rest of the shows are only between 60 and 90 mins long, and the show only lasts a week, so its all over and done with before it starts. Unlike other reality shows which go on for weeks or months

Well the format of the programme IMO is simular to the live X Factor shows - each acts has a video to tell us about them, they sing, the presenters ask each judge for comment, the judges give their comments, the audience boo at negative comments - need I go on.

Even the way they are doing the results is simular. They even have some sort of final showdown tommorow night by the looks of it.

This isn't on every night for the next few weeks is it?

Bit of an odd question, but did anyone catch the music used in the Friends Reunited plug before and after each break? I've heard it before...what's it actually called?

Fern came across a bit too school mam'ish for this show, not exactly much chemistry between her and her co-host. I like Fern, but think she's better suited to daytime. The person who should have been the real host for this programme was sat with the judges, in between those other two numptys.

I agree! It was excrable entertainment! Utterly useless!



It was boring! Utter tripe. Who wants to sit in front of ITV for 2 hours on Friday night and watch Fern Britton and stomach, present a half-baked idea of a entertainment singing show with celebrities so should really know better than appearing on this load of cak...

With The X Factor only just finished, putting this on so soon afterwards just shows what a poor comparison this really is.
