Well, there hasn't been much else on and i've drifted in and out of it since it started! I even saw some of the ITV2 programme aswell.

It's not that bad but it's just all getting a bit samey now. There are TOO many programmes of a similar genre.

Overnights have revealed that the show had 5.3 million viewers last night, 700,000 down on Monday and the lowest audience of the run so far....but still the winner of the Tuesday 9pm timeslot.

I've never really noticed it before but does anyone think that Fern sometimes sounds like Soo from Sooty and Co? Laughing

But then yesterday it has moved way out infront again. 6 million viewers tuned in last night (1.5m above CBB)

It is a runaway success on ITV1. Even I didn't expect it to do as well as it is doing, just think of all those 18-35s tuning in that the advertisers like!

Richard Fleeshman is obviously the star of the show and will probably end up as the next big thing.

I wouldn't say way out in front - and 6 million is a little generous. Traffic Cops almost beat it.

Oh, and the 18-35s are watching Big Brother - ITV1 is attracting the oldies with this show - who else cares about soapstars singing??

At work the women (all ages it seems) are talking about this programme -- the blokes hide their heads in disgust.

So yes, it appeals to its target audience well.

Which surely means that Roxanne(? -- I've not watched it so this is second-hand) surely has no chance -- a male actor is bound to win the thing.

This show gets its peak audience after Big Brother finishes and BBC1 didn't provide much competition. However it was beaten by Judge John Deed last Friday and Life On Mars on Monday and the demographic that ITV craves is actually watching Big Brother. So the 18-34's might be sad but they aren't THAT sad! Smile

Like I said with 6 million you're being very generous!

From MediaGuardian:
Quote:
The other hit of the night was the return of BBC2's genealogy series Who Do You Think You Are?. This time it was Newsnight hardman Jeremy Paxman who got to trace his family tree. His journey to Glasgow and Bradford attracted an audience of 5.3 million people, a 21% share, at 9pm.

The audience for Who Do You Think You Are? was 1 million more than watched Celebrity Big Brother and almost trumped ITV's Soapstar Superstar which only had 100,000 more viewers than the BBC2 documentary last night with 5.4 million, a 23% share.

The reality TV singing competition was just slightly up on the previous night's show, which had recorded its lowest audience so far at 5.3 million viewers. The gap between the Soapstar Superstar and Celebrity Big Brother remains close, with just 1.1 million viewers separating the two shows.

It was nice hearing "Live from Manchester..." at the start of tonight's final.

Good to see big primetime shows being made up North.

I expect this will be the start of Cilla coming back to ITV1. Maybe she could do a daytime chat show, Weekdays at 5pm!

Thank God this show is over! I quickly switched on the final tonight to see if Fern Britton had finally learnt how to correctly hold a microphone. But alas...my hopes were dashed. I then quickly switched off before I saw any more drivel.
