Emmerdale, EastEnders and Coronation Street are the big three - but the other soaps have a loyal following and usually perform quite well for their slots.
So out of Doctors, Family Affairs and Hollyoaks, plus Aussie imports Home and Away and Neighbours which do you think is the best?

lol Nah! am loving the Sarah plot and am glad to see Laurie Foel, as Josie, back on our screens! She is one of the best actresses H&A has seen for a while...not to say the others aren't good - I especially like Isabel Lucas (Tasha) and Clarissa House (Beth)
EDIT: Totally off topic but: What is going on with tags tonight? First it won't use the QUOTE or Italic tags and now my bloody signature is gone causw the image tags aint working! And is anyone else sick and fed up of seeing "Sorry too busy!" I think for TV Forums 4th birthday we shoud all chip in and help buy a better server!
Gotta be Neighbours!! Ok, it's dreadful, but i've watched it on and off for years. Probably because it's in the perfect timeslot between getting home and making the tea!
Not enough votes for Hollyoaks my friends! It is definately going through a bad patch - but it's still got enough going on IMO to keep viewers interest with the comedy aspect seeing it through!
And Neighbours being in the lead! It's the blandest soap on the box. Compare last week's end-of-season fire to Home and Away's Olympic cliffhanger on five this week - it lags behind by miles!
Brookside was great! I was only thinking about the last episode yesterday where Jimmy Corkhill went around The Close and painted the letters G-A-M-E-O-V-E-R on the windows and added an extra D to the Brookside Close road sign.
PS I voted for Home and Away. I wouldve voted for The Bill but it wasnt an option!
What about Brookside? It may be gone, but it was certainly a good soap.
If I'd included Brookside I'd have had the Crossroads brigade on my back - something I certainly don't wish to experience.
As for Brookside itself - it did get rubbish (nowhere near as bad as EastEnders is currently though) but ironically picked up after it was axed.
It was all about the scheduling. It's easy to blame C4 - but the truth is there were too many soaps in primetime and as Corrie and EastEnders increased their episodes and The Bill and Holby City became regular fixtures, there wasn't anywhere for Brookie to go.
