Soap Overload

The story lines in Corrie are so tame. I did suggest we just watch Emmerdale and EastEnders, but only lasted a week. Corrie is back on the menu !!

I used to live with someone who loved EastEnders, Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Hollyoaks. We reached a compromise that he recorded them and watched them over breakfast or when I was out, so perhaps that's something you could try.

Back in the day we had tones of soaps just not in prime time because of the IBA?

Corre- 2per week
Emmerdale 2per week
Crossroads 3per week
High Road 2 per week

Then you had oz soaps: which could have up to 5 hours a week That before Home and away started.

Just if there was a channel where they showed game shows all day and all night

There's a football tournament this summer featuring most of the Home Nations (sorry Scotland!). That should alleviate the soap issue for a couple of weeks at least.

The soaps are full of valuable tips and tricks to get at a useless partner. Have you tried...

...having an affair?
...going upstairs for a year or two and coming down as a different person?
...burying a drug dealer in your granny flat?
...getting the entire street to give up their washing machines and go to the laundrette instead?
...going down to the pub, asking for a pint without specifying what, and then getting barred?
...murder?
...running for local councillor?

If you don't like soaps, you won't like this news. The BBC have picked up Irish channel TV3's soap Red Rock.
