I remember I used to love watching snooker with my nan in black and white.
When my nan got a colour set it sort of lost its appeal.

Do anyone know who all the original competiters were in the first series of Pot Black. I know Ray Reardon won it. I also heard there was some player called Gary Owen who took part as well that year

Well Pot Black was, of course, devised by Ted Lowe who insisted on every last detail of the programme, from the players' dress code to the set being to his liking. The one thing he forgot about was the audience so they just filled it with BBC staff who happened to eb around to fill it!

You mentioned Welshman Gary Owen as a competitor in the first series. Gary now lives in Australia.

Other competitors are LIKELY to have included Alex Higgins, Eddie Charlton, Graham Miles, Fred Davis, Rex Williams, Perrie Mans, John Spencer and Dennis Taylor, though I cannot confirm this.
