And of course he was then referenced as the Rt Hon Pieceof Fluff MP:

"The Right Honorable Peter Luff/says can you do more aspirational stuff!"

Of course there was the suggestion that Saturday Showdown had nicked one of their games off Da Bungalow, to the extent Dom once slagged them off on air, saying a game was exclusive to Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow and if you saw it anywhere else there'd be trouble. That was probably around the same time they suggested you go to the panto in Chatham to play Bogies, a panto that year starring one S Mulhern.

It appears they slagged them off a few times.

I also recall seeing another clip where they advertise a game featuring grannies with Dom going in a rage afterwards shouting: "You saw here it here first on BBC One, on Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow" with the kids laughing at him in the background.

Does anyone else remember a rumour that SM:TV approached Dick & Dom to take over in 2003? Apparently it was at that point that the BBC promoted them from CBBC to BBC1. I wonder if ITV would have recommissioned SM:TV for another year had they signed Dick & Dom? I'm guessing yes, even if only as a bit of a coup against the Beeb.

Probably a good thing it didn't happen. Da Bungalow was supposed to be different to the then-typical Saturday morning show. Though they certainly would have been better hosts and had better chemistry than most of the newer ones.

Every time I see this clip I still laugh at the beginning with the increasingly sped up dramatic music sting.

You have to remember that what set Da Bungalow apart from its Saturday morning rivals and predecessors was the 'no celebrities allowed' rule. But it was no surprise when it hit its peak by 2005 they scrapped it.

Excluding the Comic Relief specials, Rachel Stevens was the first bungalow 'celeb' guest. She apparently refused to do the Creamy Muck Muck finale so stormed off. So Melvin stepped in. Very Happy

Never trust celebs who think going on Dick & Dom is the bottom of their career and not a highlight.
