If the reunion goes well, this might mean the show could come back. I wouldn't have Ant, Dec and Cat as host since their kinda doing their own thing now but they could be producers or something. The new presenters could be fresh new presenters instead of like people from reality tv or Jedward since last time we heard abut a SMTV Return, they where rumoured to host. SMTV still will be able to show Pokemon since CITV still show it these days but it's the case of the other cartoons. The only one I can think of is Tom and Jerry but idk.

I think this might work because revivals and comebacks have been doing well lately. Look at shows like TFI Friday, WWTBAM and Crackerjack. Those shows proved that a comeback series would work and Saturday Morning Shows have proven to have made a comeback in recent years thanks to Saturday Mash Up.

I do hope ITV does bring back SMTV but I hope it all fresh and all that.

I quite liked the TFI Friday reboot but it was a massive flop- mind you, being in my 60s when it came back, I wasn’t the target audience. It was just mostly those who were nostalgic for the original version watching it, which I think will be the same with SMTV.

I don’t think it was a massive flop, I don’t think it was a massive hit either. It may have even got a second series if Evans hadn’t decided to to do Top Gear, there was even talk of Evans handing the baton to someone younger.

He commented that Nick Grimshaw, who was a guest at the time, should be the one to take over if he ever stepped down. Personally the idea made me sick. But I don't know if the cancellation of TFI also coincided with some unpleasant accusations of his time presenting The Big Breakfast and Channel 4 wanted to wash their hands of him. I definitely don't recall the show itself performing particularly badly.

I remember there being a massive push for the first episode of the reboot - but I also recall it was a short season and Chris basically came out to say it was always intended to be a short run and nothing more. How much of that was influenced by BBC then courting him however...

Also on the other presenter thing, they would really have to look for someone who would have the charisma and energy to match. A lot of the reason SM:TV burned bright - then quickly burned out was due to being unable to find someone to really replace ant and dec (the revolving door of presenters didn't exactly help) But honestly any show in the same vein would be best off starting with it's own name and identity.

TFI Friday looked a mid-life crisis. A one off is fine but the novelty/nostalgia quickly wears off when these revivals go to series. Remember 15 to 1? I don't think anyone even noticed when it was dropped.

It's like all these people calling for Top Of The Pops to return, I can't see many of them watching it. Not least because they're very unlikely to be interested in modern music.
Larry the Loafer and Brekkie gave kudos
