So absolutely nothing confirmed at all then. They've pretty much confirmed there are no plans for a reunion this year. If it happens I suspect now they'll wait till the 25th anniversary.
Would air it on a Saturday night, would be far too high budget for a morning. Would also do it for the shows anniversary. For Ant and Dec’s do a special edition of Takeaway.
I like the idea of these reunions but a problem with SMTV Live is that Pokemon was a big part of it. And I don't see ITV giving 20 minutes of airtime to that on a saturday night.
Then again it is still a big thing, which surprised me.
Pokemon played something of a part, though not *that* much time was dedicated to it. After first break they would have 5 minutes to have a joke poke-battle and then get out their pikachu jumpers and skoda bling necklaces to do Dec's Pokerap - once that was done Pokemon generally wouldn't be mentioned for the rest of the show.
That and while it was big - I'm pretty sure I remember GM:TV had first run dibs on Pokemon and when SM:TV got access to the series, it was all repeats - just it was so popular that it still brought in the viewers anyway.
Anyway you have sketches or skits like:
Wonkey Donkey
Chums
Postbag
Anty and Decky in the Garden (Bill and Ben Parody)
Challenge Ant
Eat my goal
Declan's childhood stories
Steps were so regular and all took turns to present the show so prob could invite them for giggles.
A mini CD:UK revival
The only downside is if there's really any new content in it for any of that. It's not worth doing if you can't think of any good ideas for those old skits. But I wouldn't mind a "Best Bits" show.

These days you can even catch Pokémon with your smartphones so I wouldn't be surprised if they go down that route.
Weren’t the initial rumours for the 20th anniversary that they wanted to do the special on a Saturday morning rather than prime time? I’d expect they’d have to have cartoons in the old two hour block. CITV still airs episodes of Pokémon so that shouldn’t be an issue.
They did actually lose the rights at one point, but later got them back. But yeah, there's no obstacle to anything Pokemon related, including the anime itself, being used on the reunion show. However, it would be a Sun/Moon or new series episode (there's no subtitle on this year's version, as it's not directly based on the Sword and Shield games) more than likely, not Indigo or Johto League.
If the reunion goes well, this might mean the show could come back. I wouldn't have Ant, Dec and Cat as host since their kinda doing their own thing now but they could be producers or something. The new presenters could be fresh new presenters instead of like people from reality tv or Jedward since last time we heard abut a SMTV Return, they where rumoured to host. SMTV still will be able to show Pokemon since CITV still show it these days but it's the case of the other cartoons. The only one I can think of is Tom and Jerry but idk.
I think this might work because revivals and comebacks have been doing well lately. Look at shows like TFI Friday, WWTBAM and Crackerjack. Those shows proved that a comeback series would work and Saturday Morning Shows have proven to have made a comeback in recent years thanks to Saturday Mash Up.
I do hope ITV does bring back SMTV but I hope it all fresh and all that.
