I'd be surprised if it doesn't happen... though it's very early days according to Ant & Dec's interview on This Morning today. Cat Deeley hasn't even yet been approached on the idea.
However their suggestion of putting it back at 9.25am for a one-off morning... I'm not sure.
I understand Saturday Mornings are no longer a key viewing period for children nowadays... but if this will be aiming to reach a 30's demographic then surely it would do better one Saturday evening? I understand it would then have to be called SE:TV Live... but it might improve the figures.
I think I'd pass on Eat My Goal though, as that brings back memories of when the show was flagging after Ant and Dec had left and it was rolled out every week.
Chums, Wonkey Donkey, Postbag, Pokerap, Dec Says with Cat the Dog, Splatoon, Anty and Decy.
It needs to be a purely Ant, Dec, Cat affair, nobody is really interested in what came afterwards.
Interesting that A&D's natural instinct is to do it on a Saturday morning, and I agree with them. Sure it'd get more viewers in primetime (well, probably..these days one show in primetime can hit the ratings ceiling while whatever follows it drops off a cliff!), but it'd probably be stripped to bare minimum and more of a nostalgia show than anything. Would I want to see that? Not really. Would I like to see a live 3 hour one off including CD:UK? Yes please! It will definitely need to be fine tuned though - nostalgia can colour our thoughts all these years later. It was a perfect kids show which could be enjoyed by adults too at the time, but now Ant and Dec are such national treasures it'd have to not be dated and be up to the quality of their current shows. I think Chums, Wonkey Donkey and Challenge Ant could definitely work, Splatoon Anty and Decy and Splatoon maybe less so.
It definitely needs to be live and at The London Studios.
Anyone remember the name of the programme that tried to bring SM:TV to prime time? It wasn't Takeaway. It was something else. I remember it had Adults playing Challenge Ant.
